This star city is one of the training centers and this name was given to that center in the year 1960. In that time only the manned space- flight program got its birth in USSR. In 1968 it is renamed as Y.A.Gagarin Cosmonaut training Center after the earth’s first cosmonaut. Also it was renamed in 1995 as “Y.A. Gagarin State Scientific Research and Testing Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC), this is done to increase the efficiency of Russia’s scientific and technical potential. This city consists of two parts the training facility and a small residential area for military and civilian personnel.
The centrifuge program is of great importance to cosmonauts and many military pilots and also for space equipment testing. This training helps to train cosmonauts to prepare for both high G-loads and “physiological weightlessness”. This centrifuge test of nearly 540 seconds will definitely show your body how to survive in extreme conditions.
